She was born on January 30, 1926 in Rockport, MA, the daughter of Arthur W. and Tecla (Peura) Gray. During her life she lived in Gloucester, MA, Porter, Portland, and Yarmouth, ME. She attended Portland schools. She married Charles A. Ouillette in 1943 and together they raised their family of three.
Dorothy worked at Sparhawk Mill Manufacturing and in 1967 started at Fairchild Semiconductor where she worked for 20 years before her retirement. She loved sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and her daily crossword puzzles. A true matriarch, she inspired her family through her ‘no nonsense’ attitude, humor, perseverance, love, and dedication. Everyone always looked forward to the weekly Sunday visits of coffee and cookies gathered around the kitchen table sharing stories.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and sister Evelyn G. Donavan. She is survived by a sister Muriel A. Taylor; her sons Charles A. Jr and his wife Linda of Scarborough; his children Wendy and Stacy of TX; John A. and his wife Linda of Yarmouth, their children Lisa, Jaclyn, and Leah; and daughter Patricia A. and her husband Bruce W. Flanders of Yarmouth, their children Cynthia, Rebecca, and Donna; also 8 great-granddaughters, Mehgan, Emily, Amy, Sabrina, Alyssa, Emma, Kiley, and Onyx; and 3 great-grandsons, Jonathan, Brady, and Connor.
There will be a graveside service in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth.
