He grew up in Pownal and graduated from Freeport High School, the class of 1960. After high school George joined the National Guard before marrying his high school sweetheart, Sandra Ryder Randall in 1963. George was employed by Central Maine Power for 30 years when he retired and then at the urging of his daughter worked part time for The Veterinary Clinic in Brunswick, Maine for several years.
George had a passion for being in the woods whether it be hunting deer or running his dogs. One could say that George’s place of worship was the woods of Maine. Besides being outdoors, George enjoyed being around his family and friends. He and Sandra traveled with friends by motorcycle to many places. They would also go camping with their children and he loved cookouts with the entire family. George’s family meant the most to him. Time spent with his three children, Wayne, Todd and Sherrye created memories for a lifetime. He also loved to teach and tease his 7 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
George was predeceased by both his parents, by his brothers, Steve and Bobby. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra. His son Wayne Randall of Pownal and his daughter Jordan, his son Todd Randall of Pownal and his daughter Alicia and his daughter Sherrye Randall Rankins and her husband John Rankins of Pownal and their children Casey Bernier, Lucas, Emma, Kolton and Hadley. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren Samuel, Sophia and Peyton. His brothers, Raymond Randall, of Brunswick, Paul Randall of Pownal, Rodney Randall of Dixmont, Bruce Randall of Pownal and Kay Holbrook of Brunswick.
