Janice Irene Cobb

Freeport, ME- Janice I. Cobb, 90, of South Street, passed away on July 28, 2026. She was born in Portland, ME, a daughter of Wendell and Lucy (Skillin) Meserve on April 12,1936. Janice was raised in Scarborough and graduated from Scarborough High School, the Class of 1953.

Janice met the love of her life, Cecil H. Cobb, Jr (better known as ‘Cobby’) during her senior year of high school and they were married on August 14, 1954. They raised 2 daughters, Patti and Cindy. Her family meant the world to her.

Janice worked several places over the years before obtaining a position at L.L.Bean, which she loved. She retired after 17 years but then continued to work in their fulfillment center during the holiday season.

Janice enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, and an occasional trip to the local casinos. She loved to travel and go out to eat with family and friends. Her favorite island was Aruba. She enjoyed many vacations in Florida, and in younger years she also loved to camp. In 2018 she took her first cruise with her daughter Cindy, which was an unforgettable trip for both.

Janice was predeceased by her parents, her husband Cecil H. Cobb Jr, and her sister Evelyn Fuller Jensen. She is survived by two daughters, Patti Eastman of Freeport, Cindy Tucci and her husband Rocco of Freeport, and an “unofficial stepdaughter” Laurie Whittemore of Wales. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

A Visiting Hour will be held from 10-11 AM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, where a Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Pownal.
