John Kevin McCarthy

He graduated from Cheverus High School in 1955. He then went to work in the family-owned store, Fruitland, in Westbrook for 28 years. In 1982 he went to work at C.H. Robinson Paper Co. for 18 years. After retiring, he worked at Valhalla Golf Course as a Ranger for 23 years. Jack greatly enjoyed the game of golf, and he formed the “McCarthy Group Golf Team”.

Jack was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Rev. Richard McCarthy Jr. and David McCarthy, and his sister Joanne Dennis.

Jack is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joan Flaherty McCarthy, daughters Diane Winton of Westbrook, Dorothy Muchmore of Florida, and his son John McCarthy Jr. and daughter-in-law Jen Pardi-McCarthy of Westbrook, stepsons Michael and Hayley Arsenault of Topsham, Thomas Arsenault of New Gloucester, grandson Jason McCarthy of Westbrook, step-granddaughters Sarah, Michell, Katie, Meagan and husband Nick, and one great granddaughter Nora. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland, ME.
