Cumberland - Joseph Vincent Allegretta, 90, of Cumberland Foreside, ME, passed away peacefully on February, 18th. Born in Norwalk, CT, on May 13, 1927, to the late Francesco and Carmela (DeFlorio) Allegretta; he was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Bartek) Allegretta for 65 years; dear father of Gary (wife, Cathy) of Portland, ME, and Mark (wife, Emily) of Charlotte, VT; devoted brother to Nancy Robinson and the late Frank Allegretta; much loved grandfather of Andrew, Adam and Audrey; step-grandfather of Cameron and Connor Cestaro; uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Allegretta was a United States Marine World War II Veteran, devoted to his Catholic faith, extremely generous, supporting many charities. He worked as an electrician, was an avid sports follower, animal lover, and wonderful handy-man. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, consideration, quick wit and sense of humor. Private family services will be held in spring (date TBD). In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions be made to Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine ( Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth, ME.
