

Portland, ME – Juliette L. Grindle, 84, of Portland and formerly of South Freeport died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Fallbrook Woods. She was the wife of the late Chester H. Grindle who died in 1982.
She was born in Brunswick, ME on July 11, 1925 the only daughter of the late Henri & Laura (Emond) Marquis. She married Chester and they moved to South Freeport, where she spent most of her life.
Juliette worked as a check processor for the Maine National Bank for many years, retiring in 1990.
Juliette loved spending time with her family, from shopping with her daughter, Marcia, to playing hostess for all the family holiday dinners. She was in her element in the kitchen, where she enjoyed preparing all types of food including her hamburgers which were one of the grandchildren’s favorite.
The family would like to share their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Fallbrook Woods for their care and compassion that they showed to Juliette and her family over the past three years.
She is survived by her daughter Marcia J. Dodd and her husband Harry of Selma, NC and her two grandsons Aaron Davis and his wife Melissa of Gorham and Ryan Davis and his husband Ross Berger of Brunswick. She also leaves a great grandson Matthew Davis of Gorham, a brother William Marquis and his wife Evelyn of Freeport and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also a sister of the late Romeo Marquis who died serving his country during WWII.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, from 2 – 3 p.m. at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Yarmouth will be held at a later date.
