

FREEPORT- Lena M. Hamilton, 68, died on Saturday May, 18 2013 after a long illness. She passed peacefully with family near, in her home on Saturday afternoon. Born in Portland and a lifelong resident of Maine, Lena graduated from Falmouth High School in 1963.
Lena was a realtor in the late 70's and 80's here and spent her career in real estate related businesses. Her interests ranged from books and reading to crewel work, quilt making, peonies and painting.
She was a devoted wife to Bruce C. Hamilton who predeceased her. Mother to two sons: Brenton and his partner Deanna of Rockland, Maine and Greggory and his wife Beth of North Georgia. Other devotions and passion for her grandchildren sustained her: Cooper, Kelsey, Teylor, all of Georgia and Chase Hamilton of Brooklyn, NY. She is survived also by her brother Gary A. Sidelinger and his wife Maureen of Cumberland; nephews, Ben and Andrew Sidelinger; brother-in-law William Taplin of Portland; nephew Chadd Taplin and niece Emilee Lacy of North Yarmouth as well as an aunt, Phyllis Moulton and her son Sonny of Portland. Her sister Marie Taplin predeceased her.
A time of gathering and visitation will be held on Saturday May 25, 2013 from 10 – 12 Noon with tributes offered at 11:30 AM at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME. Burial will immediately follow on Chebeague Island next to her husband.
