

Falmouth-Linda B. Pyles age 68 of Falmouth, passed away Friday November 15, 2013 at her home with her family. She was born in Portland, Maine on July 26, 1945, the daughter of Rex W. and Virginia L. Barchard. Linda was a graduate of Yarmouth High School in 1965. She married John J. Pyles on December 3, 1966. Linda was a mother of three, and in more recent years, a grandmother of two. Linda enjoyed nothing more than having her house filled with her family and close friends. There was always lots of laughter, and she filled the house with love. When her children were grown and out of the home, Linda worked at Sedgwick CMS until her first grandchild was born. Linda was a wonderful cook, and shared that love with her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for the ocean and the beauty of Maine’s coastline.
Linda was predeceased by her parents and a son, John W. Pyles, who died of Reyes Syndrome when he was thirteen. Linda and John helped to establish the Maine Chapter of National Reyes Syndrome Foundation. They put a lot of time and effort into raising funds and awareness for Reyes Syndrome.
Linda is Survived by her loving husband John J. Pyles of Falmouth, a daughter Julie Howland and her husband Matt of Brunswick, a son James Pyles and his partner Craig Bellgraph of South Portland, her sisters Diane Higgins of Portland and Sally Barchard of Falmouth, two adored grandchildren Rex and Gracie Howland, a sister-in-law, Shirley Pyles of Falmouth, and three nieces.
