

Freeport – Lois Rada Campbell, our much loved mom, 82, of Bragdon Road passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
Mom was born in Ellsworth, ME on July 16, 1934, the daughter of Delvin and Marjorie Dolly Smith. Mom graduated from Danforth High School in 1951, the same year she married our dad, Reginald Campbell. Together, they shared 42 years filled with laughter and love.
Mom worked for the Freeport Postal Service for many years and retired from the Freeport School Dept. as a bus driver and custodian in 1997 after 22 years of dedicated service.
Mom enjoyed getting “dolled up” for all occasions. She loved dancing, reading, camping, boating on Casco Bay and riding her horse, Levi. She also loved to travel. Some of her favorite places were Alaska, Hawaii, St. Martin, France and Africa. Most of all, mom loved spending time with family.
Mom is survived by her three sons; Reginald and Cindy Campbell of Pownal, Michael and Cathy Campbell of Cumberland and Scott and Mary Campbell of Pownal; two daughters; Christie and Bill Aronson Campbell of Limerick and Wendy and Alan Dodge of Freeport; three granddaughters; Regis Porter, Alana Campbell and Brittany Campbell; two grandsons; Justin and Eric Dodge and one step-grandson, Joshua Marks; three great-grandchildren (her greatest joys); Lydia and Lyla Porter and Annabelle Dodge; two brothers; Delvin Smith Jr CDR USN (Ret) of California and Herbert and JoAnne Smith of Arizona; two sisters; Madeline Lamb of Arizona and Linda Skov of Maine. Mom is predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, our father, Reginald Campbell and also her second husband of 10 years, Ken Rada.
A family graveside memorial service will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn on Saturday, September 17th at 1:00 p.m.
