Falmouth - Margaret Lazott formerly of Waterford, Cumberland, Portland and South Portland Maine plus Worcester, Hopkinton and Peabody Mass and St. Petersburg and Holiday Florida. Born in 1922 the fraternal twin daughter of Gladys H. Cressy and Merle Barnes Phipps. She graduated from Worcester South High School in 1940 and Framingham State College in 1944 with a B.S. Degree in Nutrition.
Harlow Albert Lazott and she were married in 1944 while he was serving in the U.S.Navy. They spent 40 happy summers at their log cabin which was built by Capt. Lazott and her two sons in Waterford ME as well as year round from 1991 to 1999 before moving to Falmouth ME.
After graduation from college, Margaret worked in the Hillcrest Dairy Laboratory in Worcester. She also worked part time in the Cumberland schools food lunch service department, at Porteous Mitchell & Braun in Portland and Filene's North Shore Mall store in Peabody MA.
In 1956 when her husband received a company transfer, they moved to South Portland ME where she was a Cub Scout Den Mother as she had previously been in Auburn MA. She also served as a Sunday School Teacher at Pilgrim Congregational Church, Worcester and the Congregational Church, Cumberland ME. Her greatest interests were her family, sewing, nutrition and cooking.
She was predeceased by her husband Harlow, father Merle, mother Gladys, sisters Shirley and Marion. Surviving are her two sons, Master Chief Hospital Corps (Retired) Russell Lazott of Escondido CA and David H. Lazott of Worcester MA; four grandsons and seven great grandchildren.
In accordance with her expressed wishes, there will be cremation with no local services. Burial will be in the Arlington National Cemetery, VA.
