Patricia Jean Kenney

GRAY - Patricia J. Kenney of Gray passed away peacefully at her home on Monday April 3, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 27th, 1937, the daughter of Amos and Virginia (Moore) Liberty.

Patricia graduated from Pennell Institute in Gray in 1956 and later graduated from Northwestern Business College in Portland, Maine. She enjoyed working as a Bookkeeper for several companies in the Gray area, most notably Gray Oil Company, her father’s business, along with 18 years at Hall’s Self Storage.

She was an avid reader who loved to cook and plan gatherings for her family. Her true passion was traveling the United States and Canada with her husband Marvin. Over the years, they achieved her goal of traveling to all 50 states, including her favorite trip of all, a five week tour of Alaska that allowed them to drive the Alaskan Highway.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Marvin; daughter Michelle and her husband Paul of Windham; Son Mark and his wife Mary of Dresden; son Peter of Belfast; daughter Jennifer and her husband Charles of Northport; along with 7 beloved grandchildren and 4 equally loved Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents along with her brother William.

At Mom’s request, there will be no public memorial service. She did state that in lieu of flowers or other condolences, donations in her memory to either the Gray Historical Society or the Gray Public Library would be appreciated.

The family would especially like to thank the loving caregivers of VNA Hospice who worked tirelessly to keep Mom comfortable and allow her to remain at home in her final days.
