

Falmouth - Renald Amadeo Manetti died on June 22, 2015, after an extended illness. He loved his family, God, his country, his work, and music. Renald was born in Monessen, PA on January 6, 1932, the eldest child of Andrew and Eleanor Manetti. A graduate of Pittsburgh University and Harvard Law School, Renald married Mary Eunice Gorman of Dorchester, MA in 1955 while they were both attending Harvard Law School. Renald entered the United States Army in 1956 and served the Judge Advocate General until his discharge in 1959. After which he served in the US Army Reserves until he retired at the rank of Major.
Renald worked as a corporate attorney for US Steel from 1959 until 1969 and then joined ITT in its NYC headquarters office where he retired from a position as Assistant General Counsel. Renald and Mary settled in Sleepy Hollow, NY in the late sixties and resided there and other Hudson Valley communities for forty-five years raising their six children. During his time as a Mergers & Acquisition attorney, Renald travelled the world visiting Europe, Latin America, South East Asia, Middle-East, and Australia.
After retirement, Renald and his wife, Mary, continued to travel including visits to the Greek Isles, China, and multiple trips with a choir group that sang at renowned churches including The Vatican, Westminster Cathedral in London, and Saint Mark’s Basilica in Venice. A life-long musician, Renald was a member of the Transfiguration Church choir for over twenty years and a member of Westchester Choral Society. Renald was also a life-long athlete competing in amateur tennis as a young man and later an avid squash player and devoted New York Yankees fan.
Renald is mourned by Mary, his wife of nearly sixty years; his son Renald Jr. (Vanessa) of Quartz Hill, CA; his daughter Ellen (Michael Courts) of Portland, ME; his son Paul (Maureen) of Freeport, ME; his daughter Mary of Ossining, NY; his daughter Maggie (Brad Sousa) of Hastings, NY; and his daughter Carolyn (Paul Broucek)of Los Angeles, CA; his grandchildren, Sarah, Timothy, Joshua, Emily, Jenny, Michael, Christopher and Jason; and his sister Angela (Richard Covert) and his brother Jerry (Carolyn) and many nieces and nephews.
Brilliant, compassionate, and generous, Ren lived and died with fearless grace.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Thursday, June 25 at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 26, at Holy Martyrs Church, 266 Foreside Rd, Falmouth, ME 04105.
