

Bridgton – Richard E. Conrod, 61, of Bridgton died March 2, 2010 after a period of declining health. He was born in Portland on March 29, 1948, a son of Grace (Johnson) and Edward R. Conrod. He was educated in Portland and South Portland schools.
Dick worked in the Portland area for a number of years before joining the US Army where he served in transportation and was discharged an SFC after Desert Storm. Returning to Maine he worked in retail and manufacturing until his health no longer allowed him to work.
Dick was known as a jack-of-all-trades and readily helped others. He enjoyed antique cars, playing cards, especially cribbage, country music, blueberries, telling jokes and laughter. Most of all, Dick will be remembered for his love of family and the love he had for his wife, Diana.
Dick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diana Conrod of Bridgton; his father Edward Conrod of Scarborough; his brother John Conrod and his wife Ellie of CA; his brother Dan Conrod and his wife Myrna of Lewiston; his sister Beverly O’Connell and her husband Thomas of South Portland; his brother Lewis Conrod and his wife Jane of FL; his brother Eddie Conrad and his wife Jocelyn of TN; his sister Shirley Barten and her partner Debbie Lunberg of MN; many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
A memorial visitation and service will be held on Saturday March 13, 2010 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully appreciated to help pay for funeral expenses.
