Robert Pelletier

Robert Pelletier, 83, of North Yarmouth, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, held by his loving wife, Suzanne Brown. He was born on August 26, 1943, in Auburn, Maine, to the late Doris and Patrick Pelletier.

He was a hard-working, stoic, gentle, kind and deeply loving man. A master at operating heavy machinery, he took tremendous pride in his work. During his years with Seaward Construction, he traveled throughout the country, operating tension machines and threading conductors through electrical towers, which provided communities with vital electricity. Later in life, he worked for Nelson Properties in Portland, where he was highly regarded for his exceptional work ethic and professionalism. He continued working until the last year of his life.

He loved the great outdoors and everything it encompassed. He was an avid skier, and every weekend found him at Sunday River, where he became a ski instructor to share his passion for the slopes.

His greatest love was Suzanne, his beloved wife of 40 years. His world revolved around her and the life they created together. Side by side, they built their beautiful home themselves, board by board and nail by nail. Their four acres became a labor of love, filled with

extensive gardens that they planted and lovingly tended together. It was not simply a house and property; it was the home and life they built with their own hands and hearts.

He was also a devoted and loyal friend to his beloved dogs, with a particularly special bond with his Clumber spaniel, Winston, whose companionship brought him tremendous joy and love.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle nature, unwavering loyalty, incredible work ethic and the deep love he had for his wife, his home, his dogs and the people fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy not only in the things he built with his hands, but in the love and devotion he gave so freely.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME on Friday, October 16th at 10 AM with a reception to follow.
