After graduating from the University of San Marcos in Lima Peru, Rosalinda came to the United States, where she joined the Unification Church and met her beloved husband, James Burch. Together, they built a loving family rooted in faith, devotion, compassion, and service to others.
She was a devoted mother to Andrew, Brandon, and Dennis. Her niece, Grethel, became her daughter through adoption, and Rosalinda loved and embraced her wholeheartedly as her own. She was also a loving grandmother to Sawyer, Shiloh, Alicia, Virginia, and Lionel, whom she cherished deeply.
Rosalinda loved her family above all else. She was a giver by nature and lived for the sake of others, always putting the needs of the people she loved before her own. She had a deep compassion for others and a generous heart. Whether for family, friends, or someone in need, she gave freely of her time, her strength, her resources, and herself. She was known as the glue of her family.
For 25 years, from 1996 to 2021, Rosalinda served as a Spanish interpreter with Catholic Charities. Through her work, she helped countless people feel heard, understood, and supported. Her compassion and desire to help others were evident not only in her work, but throughout every part of her life.
Rosalinda was preceded in death by her sister, Alicia, nearly 30 years ago, and her brother, Edgar, who passed away on August 8, 2026. Edgar, like Rosalinda, suffered from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She is survived by her siblings, Blanca and Javier; her husband, James; her children, Andrew, Brandon and his wife Norina, Dennis and his wife Amanda, and Grethel and her husband Joao; her grandchildren, Sawyer, Shiloh, Alicia, Virginia, and Lionel; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Rosalinda will always be remembered for her compassion, generosity, strength, faith, and unwavering love for her family and God. The love she gave so freely will continue through her children, grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives she touched.
Rosalinda gave and gave and gave until she had nothing left to give. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A burial service will be held on Saturday October 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Burr Cemetery in Freeport, Maine. If you would like to send flowers, then please have them delivered to Lindquist Funeral Home at 1 Mayberry Lane Yarmouth, ME 04096.
