Known for her warm and generous heart, unconditional love, and tireless faith and devotion, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 54 years, Woody, her dear daughters Amy and Katie, steadfast sons-in-law Scott and Tim, and treasured grandchildren Alden, Addie, Penny and Sam.
Sally was born April 14, 1945 to Lewis and Pat Schauman of Brighton, NY. She fondly remembered a happy childhood as the youngest sister to caring and protective siblings Dick, Nancy, and Julie.
She attended Brighton High School in Brighton, NY, and Principia College in Elsah, IL. A sociology major, Sally worked with and mentored at risk youth, was an active member of the Christian Science church, and volunteered with Maine Needs and the Yarmouth Lion’s Club.
On May 13, 1972, Sally married the love of her life, Woody Brown. They settled in the Boston area, and built a beautiful life together, welcoming and nurturing their daughters Amy and Katie. They embraced community throughout their moves to Connecticut, Kentucky, and ultimately Yarmouth, ME.
Sally loved movies, board games, trips to Disney World and the beach with her grandchildren, nature walks, gardening, bird watching, tennis, swimming, kayaking, snowshoeing, and spoiling family dogs.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Maine Needs, or consider volunteering in your local community. Giving back to others was core to who Sally was, and it would bring her joy to know that was carried forward.
