Vera C. Rogers

Born in Montville, ME on Dec. 31,1936 daughter of Ruby Vivian Foster and Raymond Flye.

Vera graduated from South Portland High School in 1955 and went to work for Rines Department Store in Portland.

On July 16, 1966, she married Alan L. Rogers and moved to Conn. She worked in the Tax Dept., at Aetna Insurance Company for 10 years. In Nov. 1976 Vera, Alan and their 2 daughters moved back to Freeport, Maine, we owned and operated Florida Lake Campground for 26 years. They had to retire from the campground business in 2002 when Vera started kidney dialysis, and Alan took care of her. She was on dialysis for 15 years at the Coastal Dialysis Center in Bath.

She was a ceramics teacher for 36 years, she also enjoyed dancing, bingo and family parties.

Vera was predeceased by her sister Doreen Locke. Surviving family members include her husband of 51 years this July, Alan L. Rogers, daughter Kathleen Rogers of Freeport, daughter Karen and her husband Duane Walker Sr. of Sabattus, stepson Brent Rogers and companion Diane Charney of Effingham, NH. Foster Son David Moore and wife Linda of Brunswick.

Grandchildren Alissha Wedge, Kristina Anderson, Tyler Lowe, Kayla Lowe, Duane Walker Jr., Heath Rogers, and Heather Payne.

Great-grandchildren Alyson Martin, Danielle Martin, Kelsea Anderson, Marina Anderson, Kody Rogers, Kiya Rogers, Foxx Payne, Luke Payne and Alex Walker.

Nephew Darel and wife Victoria Locke, nieces Darlene Locke Green, Donna and husband Jeff Morgan, and several great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 1-4pm on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME where a funeral will be held at 11am on Monday July 3, 2017, burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland. You are invited to join the family back at Lindquist for a gathering with refreshments.
