

She was born on May 19, 1928 to Giuseppe and Yolanda Caracino Liberatore in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. Mrs. Melillo was a meat wrapper at Daitch Shopwell in Yonkers for ten years. Previously, she was a cafeteria worker for Yonkers Public Schools. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Yonkers and she enjoyed cooking and crafts. On February 27, 1949, she married her loving husband, John A. Melillo in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Mr. Melillo died in 1986. Her family said “She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she was loved by all of her friends”. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Marie (Melillo) Pisano and her husband, William of Yonkers, a brother, Joseph Liberatore of Arizona and a sister, Enes Williams of Florida. She is also survived by three grandndchildren, Brett (Jennifer) Pisano, Lauren (Koji) Pisano Wada and Mark Melillo, six great grandchildren, Kaylie, George, James, Marcus, Mya and Micala and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son John J. Melillo, two brothers, Carmine and Dominick Liberatore and a sister, Christine Muscenti. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Tuesday December 7th at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
