February 15, 1933 – February 9, 2020
Anna Patrosz nee Ganc of Yonkers NY, passed away on Sunday February 9 unexpectedly, just six days short before her 87th birthday.
Anna was born and grew up in Wysowa, Poland. In her youth she experienced war and was forcefully resettled to Dobiegniew during Akcja Wisla. Here she met her future husband Michal and started a family. She dedicated her life to her husband and family. To give her children a better life she emigrated to America with her husband. Here, as many new immigrants they started from the bottom, without knowing English, working long hours and living modestly. But Anna’s good heart and gentle nature, blessed her life with many friends. She also always helped those in need, sending parcels to people in need, finding work for new arriving emigrants and providing them with home until they could settle on their own. Anna’s home was full of visitors and people calling. She always had good advice or simply listened, to relieve other people from their burdens. Anna was beloved wife to late Michal Patrosz. Devoted mother of Olga (Zbigniew) Lukomska, Jerzy (Bozena), Stefan (Jola) and Andrzej (Bozena) Patrosz. Grandmother to: Paul, Marcin, Julita, Mark, Mathew, Jakub, Maya and Sebastian.
