Anthony DeLuca

Passed away on February 25, 2013

Anthony DeLuca of Yonkers died on Monday February 25, 2013 at age 85. Born on April 26, 1927 to James and Carmela (Viggiano) in the Bronx where he was raised and attended Highbridge P.S. 11. He worked as a carpenter for the N.Y. Central, Con-Rail and Metro North Railroad for over 41 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church. He was predeceased by by his wife Helen (Vicens) DeLuca who died in 2000. Anthony is survived by his children, Anthony (Theresa) DeLuca of Bedford, Donna DeLustro of Patterson and Lisa (Francis) Brown of Yonkers. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Casey, Angela, John and Andrew, his brother James and several nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as “Uncle Nino”. He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Joseph and Sal DeLuca, John DeMasi, Angelina Leone, Emma Connors and Concetta DeLuca. Visiting Hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Church on Thursday February 28th at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Calvary Hospice, 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, N.Y. 10461.
