Anthony Lomma Jr., age 91, of Yonkers, New York passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2018.
Tony, as he was known to all, was born in Scranton, PA on August 13, 1927. As a young man, Tony served his country in two tours of duty with the Navy as an electrician and was a proud veteran of WWII. He was a professional roller skater and appeared on television. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who always loved the great outdoors. He owned several restaurants but was best known as the co-owner of Casa Lomma Restaurant on Warburton Ave in Yonkers. Throughout his lifetime, he worked in numerous roles as a tradesman and was known to many as someone who could build or fix anything. However, Tony’s greatest accomplishment, was as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who touched the lives of many. Tony is predeceased by Margaret Lomma, his loving wife of 53 years, his brother Joseph Lomma and his sister Rose Wagner. Tony is survived by his daughter, Joan Delaney and her husband Craig of CA, Rosemary Coyne and her husband Richard of NY, and Anthony Tim Lomma and his wife Lisa of NJ and his grandchildren Anthony J. Lomma and Juliana Lomma. He is also survived by his sisters, Lucy Lomma, and Mary LaBarbera. The family would like to express its deepest thanks and appreciation to St. Cabrini Nursing Home of Dobbs Ferry, NY for their compassionate care. A visitation will occur Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703. The interment for Tony will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at St Joseph's Cemetery, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703.
