Antonina C Zoda

Antonina C. Zoda (nee Bonfiglio), of New Milford, Ct. formerly of Yonkers died on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at the Village Crest Nursing Home in New Milford. She was 101 years old. She was born on November 5, 1910 to Vincenzo and Maria Mostacchio Bonfiglio in Bauxite, Arkansas and was raised and educated in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mrs. Zoda was a salesperson for Genung’s Department Store in Yonkers for ten years. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. On February 7, 1937, she married her loving husband Joseph P. Zoda in Brooklyn. Mr. Zoda died in January 1980. She is survived by her two sons, Vincent L. Zoda and his wife, Jennie of New Milford, Ct and John Zoda and his wife, Janet of Florida. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph P. Zoda, Jr. and a granddaughter, Tina Marie Zoda. She was also predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. Visiting Hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, Yonkers on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Monday October 29th at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the Friends of Karen.
