Barbara Bruno (nee Leahy) of Yonkers died on Wednesday April 13, 2001 at age 83. She was born on November 15, 1927 to John and Anna (Lang) Leahy in Yonkers where she was raised and attended local schools and graduated from Commerce H.S. on April 13, 1947 she married Frank Bruno he survives living in Yonkers. Barbara was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Church. Besides her husband Frank (Ret, Yonkers Det.) she is survived by her 2 children Catherine (Ronald) Caovette of Monticello and Frank (Barbara) Bruno (Ret. Captain YPD) of Cortlandt Manor, 4 grandchildren Jennifer, Joseph, Lauren and Janine and 2 Great-Grandchildren Hanna and Isabelle and her sister Jean Mazzarese of Stratford, Ct. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday April 18th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Ann’s Church on Tuesday April 19th at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
