

Born on November 19, 1956, in Mafraq, Jordan, Bassam was the beloved son of Issa Elias Dahdal and Mariam (Sayegh) Dahdal. He later made his home in New York, where he built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and deep devotion to his family.
Bassam was a Master Plumber and the proud owner and CEO of Sam Dahdal Inc. in Yonkers, New York. He devoted over 50 years of his life to the plumbing trade, including nearly three decades leading his company from 1997 to 2026. Through his integrity, skill, and unwavering work ethic, he earned the respect of colleagues and the loyalty of customers alike.
A man of strong faith, Bassam was a devoted member of Virgin Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church in Yonkers. His faith was a guiding force in his life, reflected in his kindness, generosity, and the way he cared for those around him.
Bassam was the beloved husband of Maria del Carmen Martinez, with whom he shared a loving marriage since March 31, 1993. Together, they built a beautiful family and a life filled with love and resilience.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carmen; his children, Kathy, Martha, Sam, Samira (Paul), Sam, Issa, and Bassam; his sisters, Alice Mauddi, Samia Dahdal, Susan Dahdal, and Wafaa Dahdal; and his cherished grandchildren, James Nabil and Alexander Sayegh.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Faten Dahdal, Elias Dahdal, and Joseph Dahdal.
Bassam will be remembered for his strength, his generosity, and his unwavering dedication to his family. He was a hardworking man with a deep love for others, a strong and unwavering faith, and a lifelong devotion to the Church and to helping those around him. He carried a great sense of humor and was truly loved by all who knew him.
One memory that beautifully reflects who he was dates back to when he was just 12 years old. After helping a neighbor with plumbing work, he was given $20. Proud of his work, he walked home and gave the entire amount to his mother to help put food on the table. From such a young age, he showed the selflessness and generosity that would define his entire life.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, faith, and love that will live on in all who knew him. He was known for his quiet acts of kindness and his willingness to help others without ever seeking recognition.

Visiting Hours will be held at Virgin Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 236 Grandview Blvd, Yonkers, NY 10710 on Friday April 2, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on Saturday April 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:15 am.
Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 50 Jackson Ave, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706.
