

Bettie Norflin, also affectionately known as “Bobbie”, was born on June 10, 1945 in St. Francisville, Louisiana to the late Jerry and Virginia Williams.
Bettie graduated from J.S. Dawson High School in St. Francisville, LA and later moved to New York. Bettie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management both from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Bettie worked for Verizon for 43 years before retiring as a Network Operations Specialist in 2006.
On October 20, 1979, Bettie married the love of her life, Alvin Norflin. They were married for 42 ½ years until his passing in August 2022. Along with being a loving and devoted wife and a very hard worker, Bettie deeply loved her family and friends. Bettie loved to cook, host and travel. She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. Bettie was extraordinarily kind and caring. She adored showing love to everyone around her. Bettie was a wonderful example and role model for all who knew her.
Bettie leaves to cherish her memory: her brother, Jerry Williams and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her tremendously.
Bettie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin Norflin, parents, Jerry and Virginia Williams, brother, Clarence Williams and three sisters, Lucille Brumfield, Cloteal Abington and Ornetha Lee.
Visiting Hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday November 17 from 10am to 12pm. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12pm. Final disposition is private.
