Despite his condition, he was in little pain, and spent his final days surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 15th, 1943 in Krakow, Poland to Roman and Daria Petrina, Bohdan graduated from the University of Pace with a degree in Business Administration. He spent over 30 years as a supervisor at the United States Postal Service on 33rd Street in Manhattan. In 1981, he married his beloved wife Dagmar and spent 45 wonderful years establishing many happy memories for their three children; Tania, Bohdan Jr, and Stephen, their spouses, as well as their five grandchildren and extended family.
Bohdan was known for his great sense of humor, his kind and helpful demeanor, and most importantly, his huge heart with which he loved and cared for everyone around him. He was an avid reader with a creative mind, and could always be counted on for guidance, nurturing, and a good joke. His speeches at family events were legendary as was the candy he kept stashed for his grandkids visits. His devotion to serving others, prayer and faith, as well as Ukrainian culture were important to him until the end.
He is survived by his wife Dagmar, his children Tania (m. Billy), Bohdan Jr (m. Emilia), and Stephen (m. Stephanie), and his precious grandchildren Olivia, Adrian, Jade, Bohdan III, and Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Daria, and his brother, Roman Jr (2021). He is also survived by his sister, Orysia, and many loving in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
