Catherine McGartland (nee Skilling) of Yonkers died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at age 72. Born on April 17, 1940 to Charles and Margaret Skilling in Scotland, where she was raised and educated. She came to the states in 1957. Catherine worked for National Telatronics in Getty Square for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Donald McGartland who died in 1990. Mrs. McGartland is survived by her son James Donald McGartland (Yonkers Police Dept.) and her sister Margaret McDermott of Irvington. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, South Broadway on Saturday, January 26th at 10:00 a.m. Committal service Ferncliff Chapel.
