
Claudette Ciampa of Yonkers, New York died with the love and presence of her children surrounding her on Sunday, April 30, 2017 after fighting a courageous battle against a chronic lung illness. Claudette was born on January 14th, 1932 in Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Eva and Albert Dumont. She spent her childhood in Quebec with a large loving family and enjoyed many outdoor adventures with her siblings on their farm in beautiful Saint Henri. Claudette married her love Tony J. Ciampa in August of 1955 and settled in Yonkers, NY to raise her family. She loved to crochet and quilt, take long walks in nature and cook and bake the best French and Italian meals and desserts. Volunteering was important to Claudette and she was very active in the Rosary Alter Society and in her children’s school activities at her parish of Christ the King in Yonkers. Claudette had an affinity for animals and gardening as evidenced by flowers surrounding her home, the endless produce each summer, and the parade of pets allowed to her grateful children. She was kind and caring to all she knew. She was loved so dearly by her family. Claudette is predeceased by her husband Tony with which she shared more than 50 years together, her son Frank, her sisters Rachelle, Colette and Denise, her brothers Emeric, Patrick, Gilles and Jacques and her sister in law Anne. She is survived by her children Serge Ciampa of Hasting-on-the-Hudson, Mark Ciampa of Philadelphia, PA, Tony Ciampa and daughter-in-law Kim Ciampa of Northfield, NJ and Denise Nappi and son-in-law Anthony Nappi of Smithville, NJ, as well as her adoring grandchildren Thomas and Elizabeth Nappi and Nicholas and Yvette Ciampa. Claudette is also survived by her sisters Mary-Paule, Therese and Yvette, brother Mark, brother-in-law Medard and sisters-in-law Kay and Lucille. Friends and family are invited to Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers, New York for visitation on Thursday May 4th and Friday May 5th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm each day. Funeral Services will be held at Christ the King Church, 740 North Broadway in Yonkers at 10am Saturday May 5th.
