
Cornelius “Jim” Westbrook, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Monday April 3, 2017 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He was 72 years old. He was born on May 15, 1944 to Cornelius A. and Joan Woodward Westbrook in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was raised and educated in Old Greenwich, Ct. graduating from Greenwich High School. He then attended Norwalk Community College. Mr. Westbrook was an Auto Service Manager for several auto dealerships in Westchester County for over 50 years, retiring in 2013. He was a member of North Yonkers Community Church, was on their Board of Trustees and was very active with the Youth Group at Church. He was also a member of the local Mason Lodge in Yonkers and coached baseball for the Colts Boys Club. On October 12, 1969, he married his loving wife, Joan Freund at the First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich, Ct. Mrs. Westbrook survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Cornelius J. Westbrook, Jr. and his wife, Renee of Yonkers and a sister, Carralliene Westbrook of Old Greenwich, Ct. He is also survived by his nephew and best friend, Peter Kischak and his wife Patty Ann. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday April 6th at 8:30pm. Final disposition will be private.
