

Danny attended St. Joseph's grammar school and graduated from Commerce High School in 1970. Danny loved to play touch football and baseball as a kid. He worked several jobs in his teens and 20's leading up to his enlistment into the army in 1980 which he was very proud of. Upon his return he met and married his wife Gina and had two daughters with her, Danielle and Jennifer. Early on Dan worked for Nabisco and UPS. He then became an Environmental Maintenance Worker for the DPW with the City of Yonkers. He worked for 20 years before retiring in 2018.
Danny was a funny guy who once had dreams of becoming a stand up comedian. He entertained his family and friends with his jokes, imitations and voices. He was an avid lover of golf and traveled to many courses over the years. He also caddied on the weekends in Fairfield, CT. You could always find him on a golf course or at the driving range in his spare time. Golf was his passion. He was also a huge NY Giants and NY Yankees fan. Watching and talking football was a big part of his relationship with his grandsons.
Danny is predeceased by his parents Raymond and Margaret Farrell. He is survived by his wife Gina Farrell and his daughters Danielle Farrell and Jennifer (Brett) Pisano, his three grandsons Michael Piasta, George and James Pisano. He is also survived by his 6 siblings Gregory Farrell, William (Nancy) Farrell, Nanette (Tom) Murray, Suzanne Farrell, Maryjo Wenk, and Matthew (Marta) Farrell along with many nieces and nephews and extended family. Danny lived a full life and was surrounded by the ones he loved most when he passed. He will be sorely missed.
Visiting hours will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, located at 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703, on Sunday September 7, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703, on Monday September 8, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.Interment will follow at St Joseph's Cemetery, 209 Truman Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703.
