Darlene E. Tuthill born September 29, 1948 to the late Arthur Charles and Margaret Darling (née Jenkins) Tuthill in Yonkers NY she was the 6th of 12 children. A lifelong Yonkers resident, she attended Yonkers Public Schools, graduating from Gorton HS; and later Westchester Business Institute with her Associate Degree in Business. She was a loving soul with many talents; some of her hobbies she loved; were BINGO games, lotto scratch-offs, baking, arts & crafts, sewing and taking care of her plants. But her passionate loving spirit was loving and taking care of her family: her children, grandchildren, her siblings and her beloved cat “Mr. Buttons” she raised her 3 children as a single mother in the Schlobohm Housing Projects Building 8 for over 47 years and was so loved and respected. She was an active member of Institutional AME Zion Church where she served her God faithfully in ministry; and a lovingly supportive (honorary member) of Kingdom Christian Cultural Center. Darlene retired from OCTF/NYS Attorney General’s office in July 1999 to help raise her grands and take care of her family. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her 3 children Jeannette, Antonio (Tony) and Leslie. 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters and 1 brother; 2 godchildren; 1 aunt 1 uncle; nieces, nephews numerous relatives, God-sent children, friends and a whole body of Christ believers. She was predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 granddaughter. Visitation will be at the Institutional AME Zion Church on Saturday from 10am - 11am. A funeral service will be at 11am and interment will follow at Kensico cemetery in Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Hospital American Heart Association and American Stroke Association
