He was born on December 3, 1932 to Chester and Helen Clemens in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School. Prior to his retirement he worked for the Yonkers Board of Education as the purchasing agent in the business office. He was not only a parishioner, but a devoted deacon at Saint Bartholomew's Church in Yonkers.
Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war for two years. He was also very active with the Bryn Mawr Boys Club, as well as the Westchester County Umpires Association.
Robert is survived by his four children, Gregory (Deborah) Clemens, Jeffery (Maria) Clemens, Kathleen Weissman, Carolyn (Gene) Brazil and grandchildren Alexander, Jenna Lee, Carlos, Luis and great granddaughter, Alani.
He will be most remembered for his willingness to serve others.
Visiting hours will be at Saint Bartholomew’s Church on Wednesday from 3-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Bartholomew’s Church on Thursday September 22nd at 11:15am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Association.
