Dear Dennis,
We started out many years ago as brothers. You were my brother then, as I was yours, and as brothers we shall always remain.

As children we played together, learned together, struggled together and sought to define ourselves together, in the context of a world we did not yet understand and within circumstances we could not control. We fought against the odds in our own way and in between we shared moments of presence and joy. Playing soccer together was our moment of mutual escape, to exist within a world our own.

I looked up to you as often one does when he is unsure of himself. You always had the courage to stand tall and against the odds, to walk alone when others did not walk beside you.

Until our paths meet again and we are together as we once were, may the light shine on your soul and may you rest in peace. I will always miss you.

Love,
Alex
