Dionisio "DANNY" Fontana - March 31, 1933 -- July 10, 2018 Fontana, Dionisio “DANNY” of Yonkers N.Y. He was born and raised in Bedford Hills, N.Y. went home to God on July 10, 2018 surrounded by his family in Northern Westchester Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. A disease he accepted as God’s will. Beloved husband of Bridget Browne Fontana. Devoted father of Dionisio Fontana of N.Y. Teresa Dorman of Arizona. Predeceased by his adored son Louis and by his parents Luigi and Ida Fontana and his sister Flora all of Bedford Hills. Grandfather of Holly Deroche of Arizona, Cory and Louis of Florida. He served as an usher at Sacred Heart Church for the past ten years and St. Mary’s Church (Katonah) and St. Matthias Church in Bedford Hills for the past sixty years. He served his country proudly during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army with the rank of Corporal in the Signal Outfit. He was commander of the American Legion Post Robert F. Crandell Post 129 in Bedford Hills, N.Y. He was also a member of the Bajart Post in Yonkers. Danny was also a volunteer for the Bedford Hills Fire Dept. for ten years. He was a carpenter member of Local 279 for the past sixty one years. He was builder and a real estate investor. Manager of the Little League, Babe Ruth League and Mt.Kisco League. He had many friends and loved by all. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 3pm-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday July 14th at 11am. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
