Doris Virginia Antonecchia (nee Seabolt), 90, passed from this world on August 22, 2016. She was born in Beccaria Township, PA on November 13, 1925 to Thurman and Anna Seabolt. She was the 5th of 6 children. Doris was a dedicated registered nurse who began her nursing career in the Cadet Corps during World War II. While serving at the Marine Hospital in Norfolk, VA she met her husband, Gilbert.
Together Doris and Gilbert raised five children – Leslie (Michael) Landy, Yardley, PA; Lynn, Yonkers, NY; Lydia, Panacea, FL; James (Nancy), Waldwick, NJ; and Robert (Laura), Yonkers, NY.
Doris was a very busy mom, always involved with her children and the community. She was active in Cub, Boy, & Girl Scouts, baked for fundraisers (Her brownies are famous!), and helped chaperone school trips. Doris was often called upon for her nursing skills, and she never hesitated to rush to the aid of a neighbor. When her youngest entered junior high she returned to full time nursing.
Doris truly loved Jesus. She read the Bible from cover to cover yearly and eagerly shared the Lord’s teachings with many. In 2005 she fulfilled her dream of visiting Israel. This trip was truly a life highlight.
Doris was the proud and loving grandmother of Jennifer (Chris) Dillon, Mike (JJ) Landy, and Robert, Stephen, and Olivia Antonecchia. She felt blessed with four great-grandchildren - Lilly and Piper Dillon and Samuel and Evan Landy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert in 2002; sisters Bertha Green and Mary Groom; and brothers Richard and Phillip Seabolt. In addition to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many many friends, Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister Winifred (Bernie) Kizina, sister-in-law Lorraine Seabolt, nieces Janet Sayre, Gwen Daigle, Sandra Semple, Lori Pollock, Ann Dix, Maryann Fitt, Susan Jefferies, and Phyllis Jean Flesher. She is also survived by nephews Jack Green and Fred Heverly and everyone’s spouses and children.
Please help honor her life by offering an act of kindness for someone in need.
Memorial service to be held at a later date.
