Dorothy Flynn

Dorothy Flynn of Yonkers died on Wednesday January 7, 2015 at age 76. She was born on December 20, 1938 to Timothy and Bridget (McCormack) Flynn in the Bronx where she was raised and attended local schools. She graduated from Dominican College and received her Master’s in Education from St. John’s University. Miss Flynn worked as a School Teacher with the Tarrytown School System for over 25 years; retiring in 1998. Dorothy was a parishioner of Christ the King Church; where she did volunteer work in both the church office and the school. She is survived by her brother John (Patricia) Flynn of Dumont, NJ and her sister Frances Smith of Florida; she is also survived by her nephew Timothy and 4 nieces; Mary, Joanne, Katie and Tracey. She was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Flynn O.P. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Christ the King Church on Monday January 12th at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery.
