Dorothy Gillen (nee Bartolomeo), a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Friday, January 4, 2013, at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. She was 79 years old. She was born on December 1, 1933 to Antonio and Josephine Bartolomeo in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she was raised and educated. Dolly recently attended Christ the King Church and enjoyed reading, shopping, football, animals, and helping her friends. She was an avid fan of Judge Judy. She also enjoyed the company of her family and friends immensely. Dolly was predeceased by her loving husband William on September 12, 2010. She is survived by her two daughters, Florence Gillen and Michelle Gillen, and her son-in-law, Joseph Holland. She is also survived by her brother, Count Baron. Visiting Hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday January 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, with the Funeral Service scheduled for 8 pm. Final disposition will be private.
