Dorothy Oleskovic

Dorothy M. Oleskovic (nee Pohorence) of Yonkers died on Friday February 25, 2011 at age 73. Born on April 3, 1937 to Paul and Margaret (Skidgele) Pohorence in Hawk Run, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Yonkers and graduated from Commerce H.S. Mrs. Oleskovic was the waitress and bartender at the Italian American Unity Club on Lockwood Ave. for over 20 years until it closed. On October 5, 1957 she married Stefan Oleskovic in Holy Trinity Church. He died on January 5, 2000. Dorothy is survived by her 3 children, John (Joan) Oleskovic of Yonkers, Stephen (Carmella) Oleskovic of New Rochelle and Peggy (Margaret) Grilli of Springhill Florida. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Steven, Jessica and Joseph, her brother Paul (Sonny) Pohorence (Mary Jane) of Yonkers, and Carol Engler of Florida. She was predeceased by her daughter Stephanie Oleskovic who died in 1994 and her sister Patricia Brook. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball F.H. on Tuesday from 3 to 7PM only. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church on Wednesday March 2nd at 10AM. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
