She was born on June 28, 1932 to Patrick and Clara Kirchein O’Leary in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School. Mrs. D’Aquila was a teacher’s aide in the Yonkers Public School System for several years until her retirement. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Bartholomew’s Church in Yonkers. On September 14, 1952, she married her loving husband, Frank A. D’Aquila in St. Bartholomew’s Church. Mr. D’Aquila survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Frank D’Aquila and his wife Andrea of Brookfield, CT and a daughter, Gail Saretto of Middletown, N.Y. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Danny, Gina, Lauren and Jacqueline and her three great grandchildren, Mikaela, Logan and Wyatt. She was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Patrick, David and Joseph and one sister, Margaret Riggs. Her family said “she was very devoted to her family and to St. Bartholomew’s Church.” Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Bartholomew’s Church on Wednesday August 21st at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
