Elaine A. Smith

Elaine A "Smitty" Smith born December 12th 1953 passed away Saturday January 7th 2017. She was born in Yonkers, NY and spent most of her life residing there until moving to Dutchess county 15 years ago. She was an employee for New York Telephone where she retired after 29 years. After retiring, she then worked for Arlington Central School District as her second career. She was working as cafeteria staff at Vail Farm Elementary for ten years. She was an avid bowler throughout her years and highly enjoyed vacationing to Cape Cod, MA with her family. She may have loved "slurping" her oysters and salty air blowing on the cape more than anything else. She leaves behind her beloved family; son Frank J Hrizo of Yonkers; her mother Agnes Smith of Poughquag; David B. Smith of Poughkeepsie; Sisters Christine O'Connell of Pleasant Valley, Leslie Fortuna and Jeanette Smith of Poughquag; Goddaughter/Niece Kimberly Costello; Nieces and Nephews Cameron and Brandon Fortuna, Katelyn and Megan O'Connell, David R. Smith and Victoria Smith, and great nephew Mason Fortuna. She was predeceased by her father Robert J. Smith Sr. and brother Robert J. "Bubba" Smith Jr, who will be welcoming her with open arms.
