I will always remember the first day I met Momma: Friday, June 9th, 2023. I had accompanied my boyfriend, her beloved grandson Shaquille Malcolm, to Wilmington. As we walked toward her room, I started getting incredibly nervous. But the moment I stepped inside, all of that melted away. She greeted me with so much warmth and love, instantly making me feel welcomed and at home. We played bingo together that day—and of course, she won!

Throughout the time I knew Momma, she never stopped making me feel loved. She was always so kind and sweet—the sweetest Momma I know, who constantly carried herself with love, peace, and joy. As time passed and we spent more time together, we developed a beautiful, special bond. We would take naps together, converse, share meals, and sing along to one of her favorite songs, 'I Am Blessed.'

Every time I hear that song, it always reminds me of Momma. I am truly blessed to have known such a beautiful, lovely soul. She showed me that life moves faster than you expect, teaching me how vital it is to appreciate daily moments rather than rushing through life. Her love and wisdom will stay with me always. I love you, Momma.
