Emilia S. Custodio

Emilia S. Custodio (nee Zefinio) of Yonkers died on Friday, May 9, 2014 at age 94.Born on January 30, 1920 to Antonio and Custodia Zefinio in New Bedford, Mass. At age 3 she moved to Porto De Mos, Portugal; attended local schools; got married to Manuel and returned to Yonkers in 1949. Mrs. Custodio was a parishioner of Christ the King Church. She was predeceased by her husband Manuel Custodio who died in 1993. Emilia is survived by her daughter Helen (Manuel) Andrade of Yonkers, her two grandchildren Manuel (Holly) and Frank (Susan) Andrade and five great-grandchildren; Nicholas, Alexis, Maxwell, Alexandra and Adam. Predeceased by her brother Joaquin Zefinio. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be in Christ the King Church on Tuesday, May 13th at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 1 St. Jude Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 37501.
