

Fernando Tirado Soto, a brave, faithful, devoted, hard-working, and loyal individual, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on November 11, 1944, in Puerto Rico to Juan and Cruz Tirado Soto, Fernando spent his early years in his birthplace before pursuing higher education. He earned an Associate Degree from the University of Puerto Rico.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Fernando received the National Defense Service Medal and a Marksmanship Award, highlighting his distinguished military service. After his military career, he worked diligently as an Accountant for the Immigration Department. Fernando was also a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph's Parish in Yonkers, New York, where he resided for 25 years.
Fernando is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn Badillo, his son, Fernando Tirado Jr., and his daughter, Theresa Tirado. He was a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren: Isreal, Jalani, Joshua, Sabrina, Rebeca, Dylan, and Devon.
Services to honor Fernando's life will be held as follows: Visitation on August 27, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home in Chapel "C." A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on August 28, 2025, at 10:00 am at St Joseph Church, located at 141 Ashburton Ave, Yonkers. The Committal Service will follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla from 11:30 am to 11:45 am.
