Dear Mr. Caragine and family,
I was very sadden to hear of the news of the passing of Mrs. Caragine/Miss Jones. Can not think of my childhood days at St. Denis and NOT think of the both of you!! It was more than just getting an education it was a connection of educators and their students making a family. Miss Jones was passionate about teaching us history and I have her and my loving mother to thank for getting me through 7th grade history. My mom, Margaret shared many happy times with both of you and I am sure her and Mrs. Caragine are up in heaven sharing a good laugh together. Hold on to the comfort that Mrs. Caragine could never truly be gone because she has touched so, so many lives that her impact will always be alive in each of her fortunate students. May God bless you and watch over you as your grieve, but know you do not grieve alone. Be well and take care!!

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Caragine's passing. My sister,brother and I all had her and Mr. Caragine as teachers at St. Denis. Each of us have wonderful memories of her. She was a special teacher to all who entered her room. She is now in heaven and having a few laughs with my mom - Margaret Neyen. My heart breaks for Mr. Caragine. I vividly remember 7th grade Social Studies at St. Denis with Mrs. Caragine, who was Miss Jones at the time. She was a wonderful teacher. My condolences to Mr. Caragine and the entire family. God bless you all in this difficult time.

She was a great teacher and an even better person.

Florence Caragine was and forever will be an amazing person and teacher. She had a genuinely kind and warm hearted soul. She as an individual showed compassion and understanding to everyone she knew. Many memories and lessons will be remembered by all her students, friends, and family because of her simplistic, practical, and her inherent good nature toward life. Florence Caragine is loved and will be missed. May God take her into Her embrace.

Mrs. Caragine was a great teacher. She taught me my freshmen year and some of junior year before she got sick.(class of 2012) I loved Mrs. Caragine. Even tho I hated History with a passion, I always look foward to her class. She was a great teacher, she knew so much about history and i really enjoyed it. I always loved going trick or treating with my friends at her house.That was always a suprise on her face to see us at her doorstep. Mr. Caragine, I am so sorry for your loss.She was a lovely person, and will truely be missed.

Candy was a very special person to many people. So many former students expressed their love and respect for her both at the wake and here in the Guest Book. She was a fantastic and caring teacher. I would like to add my sincere condolences-especially  to Frank and Kerry. Candy was a mentor to me as well as a great friend. My prayers are with the Caragine family. Both Mr. & Mrs. Caragine were my teachers in Sacred Heart High School from 2001-2005 (class of 2005). They were wonderful. Mrs. Caragine always pushed me to do my best, especially when it came to the U.S. History regents which I dreaded but she was always willing to stay after school with me to help me out. I still remember the faces she made when I spoke too much in class. She put up with me walking in right after the bell. Students who didnt have her missed a great teacher. RIP and God Bless your family.

Mr Caragine I am sorry for your loss.  I had both of you for teachers in St. Denis.  She was a good person and she will be missed.

Mr. Caragine, I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs Caragine was a wonderful and caring individual. Great teacher. And if you were good in  her class she would let you have the honor of ringing that lovely bell for the class change. Some of us rang it a little too much and she would gently rip it from our tiny little fingers. thanks for the memories, always in our thoughts and prayers.

My social studies teacher, Mrs. Caragine, assigned Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle," which had a lasting impact on my view of the world and my orientation to it. Her choices as a teacher have been ripples in a pond, making the world a better place. My condolences extend to  Frank Caragine, also my teacher, who read us "James and the Giant Peach."

Mrs. Caragine was one of the most influential teachers I have ever been blessed to know. She was honest, kind, funny, and always offered words of wisdom. Even after graduating high school, she would always e-mail me to let me know how much she appreciated having me as her pupil, and I will never forget her.

My condolences go out to the entire family. She was only my homeroom teacher in Sacred Heart HS, so unfortunately I was never able to say I had her as a history teacher. By reading previous posts & seeing fellow classmates' reactions, I know she touched many lives and was extremely loved. Heaven has another angel.

Miss Jones had a tremendous impact on my life. She made me a better person.

My sympathies and prayers are with Frank, Kerri, and Candy's family. The last time I saw her she was marching in the Yonker's Saint Patrick's Day Parade.i had great years working with Candy and Frank at Saint Denis. They were special days.

So sorry to hear of 'Miss Jones' passing.  She was my 7 th Grade teacher, and Mr. Caragine my 5th grade teacher.  Truly a perfect match for each other.

I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. Mrs Caragine  will always have a special place in my heart. I can remember so many great times in her classroom she made social studies fun. Saddened to learn of her passing. Ms. Jones was one of the best memories I had of St. Denis. She's been missed and ever moreso today.

First of all to  Frank I'm so sorry for your loss. Your loss is our loss, she was a great women & my children loved her classes. John my oldest became great friends with Candy & even would ask me if he could bring in samples of my dishes to her. They would talk all the time about recipes and the world around them she made such a impact on their lives. Know they will carry her around in their hearts for the rest of their lives. They will teach their children things that Candy taught to them so fear not & know she was greatly loved by the Hurley children. My only regret is she never got to teach our youngest he would have loved her. Please know our prayers & love are with you. John still refers to you as the great Ninja Master!
