

Frances M. McSpedon (nee Murphy) of Yonkers died peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2011 at age 72. Born on January 22, 1939 to James and Mary (Pawlowski) Murphy in New York City where she was raised and attended local schools and graduated from Cathedral High School. Mrs. McSpedon worked as a secretary for Mobil Oil, also as a Nurse’s Aide at Andrus Home for over twelve years. On April 14, 1974, she married Robert McSpedon in St. Paul’s Church in Yonkers, he survives. Frances was a Parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church, a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis at Sacred Heart and a volunteer for Multiple Sclerosis. Besides her husband Robert, she is survived by her three daughters, Mary (Michael) Jorgensen of Florida, Elizabeth McSpedon of Brooklyn, Ann McSpedon of Yonkers and four grandsons; James, Jack, William and Sam. She is also survived by her three brothers; James, Joseph and John (Mickey) Murphy and five sisters; Rosemary Tapia, Virginia Cannella, Theresa Baldino, Margaret Gorman and Marian Root. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Church on Wednesday, April 20th at 10:30 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Cancer Support Group at St. John’s Hospital, North Broadway, and Yonkers, N.Y. in Frances’ memory.
