Francis J. Gallichio

Born in New York City and raised in the Bronx, Frank built a life rooted in faith, family, and education. For the last 61 years, he proudly called Northwest Yonkers home, where he and his beloved wife, Jane, raised their family and became cherished members of the community.

Frank earned degrees in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College and New York University. He enjoyed a successful career as an engineer and contracts manager. He held a lifelong belief in the power of education. He often reminded his children and grandchildren that "everything can be taken away from you except your education," a lesson that shaped generations of his family.

A man of deep faith, Frank was a daily communicant at Christ the King Church in Yonkers, where he found great joy and spiritual fulfillment. His faith guided his life and inspired his unwavering generosity and willingness to help others.

After retirement, Frank and Jane spent many happy years traveling together, creating treasured memories and enjoying the adventures they shared. Frank had a special love for tending to his plants.

Above all, Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane (Edwards) Gallichio; his children, Michael Gallichio and his wife Kathleen, Frank Gallichio and his wife Christina, and Joann Gallichio and her partner Terry; his son-in-law, Erik Jacobsen; his grandchildren, Kayla and Gavin Gallichio; and his brothers, Michael Gallichio and his wife Barbara, and Joseph Gallichio and his wife Kathleen.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Janet Jacobsen.

Frank will be remembered as an amazing man whose generosity, wisdom, faith, and love enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family, his example, and the countless lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ the King Church, Yonkers, New York, in Frank's memory.

Visiting Hours will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703 on Monday September 28, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Catholic Church, 740 N Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701 on Tuesday September 29, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

Final disposition will be private.
