George J. Palmerton Jr.

George J. Palmerton, Jr. of Yonkers died on Friday April 8, 2011 at the age of 56. Born on December 16, 1954 to George and Carol (Maddaloni) Palmerton in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Sacred Heart Grade and High Schools. In his senior year, he received “All City Honors” in baseball. George worked as a postal clerk for the post office in the main station. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and an original member of the North Yonkers Boys Club where he coached baseball for many years. He was also an avid San Francisco Giants and Dallas Cowboys fan. George is survived by his father, George Sr. and stepmother Anne (Evans) Palmerton and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and Peggy Brundage who was especially close with George at the end so he would never be alone. He was predeceased by his mother Carol and his brother Kenneth who died in 2006. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday April 12th at 9:30 AM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.
