Helen (Benza) Pryzgoda age 92, of Yonkers, N.Y. passed away at Hospice of Palm County in West Palm Beach, FL. on May 3, 2018.
Helen was born in 1925 in Scranton Pa. where she spent her early childhood with her eight siblings. From there her family moved to Yonkers where she met and married the love of her life William J. Pryzgoda. Helen loved Yonkers and lived there for close to 80 years. Helen graduated from Commerce High School in Yonkers and worked for most of her life. She was known as a very dedicated and loyal employee and held several clerical positions during her life. Her last job was as a clerical at the Legal Aid Society of Westchester where she retired while in her 70s. Helen was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was selfless and generous beyond words. She was proud of her family and the best "grandma" to her 4 grandchildren. Helen loved vacationing with her family on the New England shore and frequent get-togethers with her extended family; she cherished every minute of time she spent with her family. To all who knew her, Helen was one of the most generous and caring souls they have ever met. To her family, Helen was the last of the "stoic" generation, she was the rock, the foundation that we all relied on and admired. She will be missed by all. Helen was the beloved wife of the late William J. Pryzgoda, devoted mother of Michael Pryzgoda and his wife Lynn, Susan (Pryzgoda) Lee & her husband Michael and the late William M. Pryzgoda, loving "Grandma" of William and Katie Lee, Mark and Alexander Pryzgoda. Family and friends will gather at the Whalen and Ball Home, 168 Park Ave. Yonkers, N.Y., on Friday, May 18th for visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held 10 am. Saturday May 19th at Christ the King Church, 740 North Broadway in Yonkers followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 209 Truman Ave, Yonkers, N.Y. I'm so sorry for your loss. Helen was a very special friend. Her obituary describes her qualities perfectly. May you all find peace and comfort as you go through this difficult time.

I will never forget Aunt Helen’s cooking and fun picnics in the backyard. The cuckoo clocks and other things mounted to the walls to tell time were a hoot. May god bless everyone during this difficult time.
