Issa Shehadeh Hattar, 65, of Yonkers, NY succumbed to his illness surrounded by loved ones on Friday, July 19, 2019.

Born April 2, 1954 in Al Fuheis, Jordan, he was the son of the late Shehadeh and Edith Hattar. Issa was a long time Yonkers resident and is survived by his loving wife Gladis of 40 years; his loving son Raymond and daughter-in-law Barbara along with three grandchildren, Gabriella, Issac, and Frankie; his loving daughter, Rita; his Brother Salti Hattar; his sisters Miriam Hattar and Kareemih Hattar; and many adoring nephews, nieces, and extended family. He is predeceased by his brothers Nasri, Farah and Kareem and his sisters Bana and Rasmieh. Issa worked for over 38 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital as first cook and retired 2 years ago to spend more time with his family and friends. He loved watching TV in his spare time, especially international soccer and the Food Network, as well as spending time with his wife, 2 children, grandchildren, family and friends. Visitation will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home located at 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church located at 103 South Broadway, Yonkers, NY on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 10:00AM. Our Uncle Issa was a special man from the day I met him Majid told me that and it was a very true statement. As the years went by we got to know him better n better he became our friend and our our Uncle what could be better! Family sure was the main thing with him and he all deeply he will be missed forever by us love, Crystal, Mazin and Rhonda Hattar
