Jacqueline Olga Hogan passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on April 11, 1945, to Frederick and Josephine Levis, Jacqueline grew up in New Haven, Connecticut and Yonkers, New York. She was a high school graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s Academy, a boarding school in North Plainfield, New Jersey and Saint Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing. Jacqueline spent a long and dedicated career as a Professional Registered Nurse at Mount Vernon Hospital. Throughout her work as a nurse, Jacqueline treated each of her patients with compassion and dignity, but as a breast cancer survivor, she was most proud of her work at the hospital assisting breast cancer patients in their treatment.
Jacqueline married William Aloysius Hogan on May 5, 1973, and together they had three children: Daniel, and twin daughters Jessica, and Jennnifer. Jacqueline was a loving wife and mother and tremendously enjoyed being a dog mom to the family’s labrador retrievers, Molly and Seamus. Jacqueline loved cultivating a beautiful garden around the family’s home of almost fifty years, where each summer all admired the many varieties of flowers and shrubbery which flourished under her green thumb. She also had a fondness for making her house beautiful by ensuring that every room of the family home was filled with decorations perfect for each holiday season. In her retirement, Jacqueline became an avid and loyal New York Yankees fan!
Jacqueline is survived by her children Daniel, Jessica, and Jennifer, and her daughter-in-law, Amanda. She is predeceased by her husband, William; parents Josephine and Frederick; sister, Joan; and twin brothers John and Joseph. Jacqueline was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 4-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday July 9th at 12pm. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
